Gary Sussman uses his business and personal experience to helps his clients navigate their path to financial independence. A native of South Africa, Gary immigrated to San Diego and graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Business Administration in Finance. His commitment to his clients stems from witnessing his grandfather’s hard-earned nest egg be mismanaged by both his grandfather and his grandfather’s financial advisor. Gary’s immigration taught him how to master change, and he uses these tools to support his clients in changes associated with their finances. He understands that his experiences have given him a different perspective which allows him to come up with creative solutions to everyday problems.
Gary’s goal as a financial planner is to make a positive difference. He does so when working with his clients, but he has also played an integral role in managing and training some of the most successful advisors in the firm. Gary is passionate about financial planning and keeping up with current events. Outside of the office, Gary enjoys spending time with his family and has become an avid fan of local sports teams.
With nearly 20 years of experience, Gary is an Investment Advisor Representative with Trilogy Capital, Inc. in which he holds his Series 66 Registration. He also holds his Series 6, 7, and 63 registrations with LPL Financial, as well as California Life, Disability, Long Term Care certifications and California Insurance License. Preparation for retirement is extremely important, and it extends well beyond finances. That’s why you need to work on your retirement compatibility with your partner way before you stop working.
When selecting a Financial Advisor, it’s important to know they will be looking out for you and the money you worked hard for all your life. Not all financial advisors are the same. When considering a financial advisor to partner with, it’s important to know if they are fiduciaries, meaning they will be ethically obligated to work in your best interests to help you reach your goals.
In addition to awareness, you need action. You need focused, decisive and immediate action to see change and to get yourself back on the road to financial independence.
FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) is trending as a new financial lifestyle. FIRE promotes extreme savings in your 20s, 30s and 40s, with the goal of being able to live off passive income from the accumulated nest egg much earlier than typical retirement age.
Financial Life Planning is about actually starting — taking a few good steps in the right direction and then taking a few more.
