Tom Elkins is a Financial Planner and Managing Vice President based out of the Boston office of Trilogy Financial. As a former math and science teacher, Tom enjoys working closely with each client providing the education needed for them to make informed decisions as they take each step toward obtaining the financial future they want. His passion for learning and sharing his knowledge with others is evident in the success of his clients.
Since Joining Trilogy in 2001, Tom has obtained numerous licenses and registrations including the Series 7, 24, 51 and 63 currently held with LPL Financial, the Series 66 held with Trilogy Capital, Inc., and also holds Life and Health. He also made it a point to become an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF). As a fiduciary, Tom is diligent about putting his clients best interest first and concentrates on providing the most ethical and trustworthy work possible.
Whether it is working with families, corporations or non-profits, Tom takes the time to review his clients' current achievements and works with the clients to determine their goals for the future. Once these goals are clear Tom prepares to build a long-term, step by step plan and works collaboratively with his clients to work towards the goals. Tom enjoys coaching his clients on how to align their day to day life with their financial plan in order to try to gain the maximum benefits.
Tom is passionate about inspiring others to try things they never thought possible, both personally and professionally. As a team leader at Trilogy, he gets to achieve this by mentoring and inspiring advisors to grow and attain a level of success they may not have thought possible. Numerous companies (fortune 500 to small companies) and municipalities hire Tom and his team to provide educational workshops for their employees. Tom continually provides internship opportunities to college students and has begun mentoring high school students that are interested in the finance industry. He has a dynamic, creative ability to help people solve problems and overcome stress.
Tom’s creativity is not limited to just finance. Tom is an avid woodworker and builds fine furniture with the same traditional hand tools his grandfather used as a carpenter. He loves helping friends build things and watching them appreciate the wonderful world of creating something with your own hands. As someone who continually seeks to learn new things, Tom has taught himself how to make stained glass lamps and windows, and most recently learned how to brickwork.
Tom lives in Westford, Massachusetts with his wife Connie and daughter Lauren. As an outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys hiking with his family or can be found camping under the stars. He regularly mountain bikes and is a member of the New England Mountain Bike Association.
Tom supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and participates in its various events.
